WYOMING, RIVERSIDE

We cross the Rabbit Ears Range at Willow Creek Pass (9,621 feet) into the Routt National Forest.  This is the lowest we have ever crossed the Continental Divide.  We breakfast at the River Rock Cafe in Walden.  This place is impressive with it's huge log beams and king posts.

We turn off the highway to access the North Platte River.  Rather than disturb the several fishermen there, we motor on to an old corral where Peggy takes the clan for a hike up a steep hill.  She returns with some nice quartzite.

We cross into Wyoming and take an all service campsite at the Lazy Acres in Riverside, Wyoming.  We were in Colorado 58 days.  Riverside has four businesses, The Beartrap Cafe and Bar, The Mangy Moose Saloon and Grill, a hardware store and a grocery store.  The Encampment River runs along the east end of the campground.  Even though it's low, it's just perfect for our family.  Since this site has cable we watch the closing ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics.
Hello Wyoming!
