Sarasota, Florida

We spend several days at Terry and Dawn's house.  It's warm and sunny so we go to t-shirts and flip flops.  We visit Anna Maria Island in Bradenton and attend a concert at the new Riverwalk Park on the Manatee River.

Jacksonville to Flagler Beach, Florida

We stop in Jacksonville for an oil change and Peggy buys a new mini iPad.  We take A1A south and soon find a vacant beach to take a walk.  The dogs, of course, are happy to be out of the motor home and running free.  After our first fresh fish dinner in a while, we take a campsite in Flagler Beach.  It costs $60 for an ocean side site, but we get to hear the surf all night long.

Williamsville, VA to Boons Mill, VA

Bill cooks breakfast again and then we all pack up to go to other places.  We head south on 220 and stop at Clifton Forge to visit the C&O Railroad Heritage Park.  We find a geocache on a swinging bridge over the Jackson River.  We cross the James River on the way to Roanoke.  It is also very low. South of Roanoke we obey the posted speed as we to through Boons Mill.  This town is made famous in a song by David Vye.  It lies in Franklin County, the moonshine capitol of the world.  We cross into North Carolina and park for the night at a Walmart in Greensboro.

Williamsville, VA (Thelma Dare)

We pack for our seasonal trip south.  I start calling the motor home the bus to Belize.  We leave in the early afternoon and arrive at the Thelma Dare cabin in Highland County at dark.  The Bullpasture River is lower than I have ever seen it.  We renew old friendships with Chris and Ken and Kenny as we have turkey soup and leftovers.  Bill and Kathleen pull up about nine.  Soon Peggy has to get out of bed and tell Bill to cut off his generator, letting him know that he can run his electric cord through the kitchen window.
