NORTHERN COLORADO, NEDERLAND

We awake to another clear chilly morning.  After a home-cooked breakfast we get on the Peak to Peak Highway heading north.  At Rollinsville we head up Bolder Creek and find a wayside where we can all play in the water.  Further on we visit the east portal of the Moffat Railroad tunnel.  The tunnel is 6.2 miles long and was completed in 1929.  We continue north through Nederland and take a site at Pleasant Valley Campground in the Roosevelt National Forest.  The dogs get to go for another swim in St. Vrain Creek, a tributary of the South Platt River.
Road into Moffat Railroad Tunnel.

Moffat Railroad Tunnel still in use.

Peak to...

Peak.

Beautiful stone church built on top of rock.
