Chiricahua National Monument, AZ

We head north to the Chiricahua National Monument.  We ride the 8 mile Bonita Canyon Drive which rises up 1,470 feet to Massai Point (6,870 feet).  The Chiricahua (meaning wild turkey) Apaches called this area "standing up rocks."  We hike out to the Echo Canyon Grotto before taking one of their campsites.  There is only one other visitor in camp.

Pretty amazing

Rocks just perched on top of rocks

We called this one quail rock

This old woman can still climb

The window of opportunity is endless
